Story Lab: Week 14

For this weeks story lab assignment, I have gone to the website called Writers Write (link above) and picked a few articles to read. These articles are all about different ways to better your writing as well as to better yourself as a storyteller. I have never considered myself much of a writer, but these tips can definitely help someone who is looking for advice.
The first little article I chose was titled "Open Yourself Up To The Possibilities Of Story", by Anthony Ehlers. This entire article talks about how writing a story is a possibility, not a chore. The author gives examples of ways to start stories, or plots you could choose while writing. It tells you to start with one simple idea and see where that idea can take you. This article is going to be really helpful for someone who is experiencing writers block and cannot think of a story idea.
The next article I chose was titled "6 Superhero Writing Tips From Stan Lee", also written by Anthony Ehlers. This article gives you 6 tips on how to make your writing better and more fulfilling. The tips talk about writing about things that you love, making the audience have empathy for the characters, and remembering that the power you have through your writing has great responsibility. I think that these 6 tips would be great for someone who is just starting out with writing and need a little help on their stories.
The last article I chose was titled "Writers and A Cup Of Coffee", again, by Anthony Ehlers. This article is about Anthony and his ideas on the craft of writing. He says that a simple thing such as giving a writer a cup of coffee can show so much appreciation for not only them, but the time and effort they are putting into their work. Now, this article does not have any tips or tricks when it comes to writing, but I think it is a nice one to look back on when you need to be reminded why you started writing in the first place.
